Fingerprints (Book)

I am creating a guide for freshers on how to throw a flat party so I have started to look at existing 'guides', 'how to...' products, and other interesting pieces of informative design work.

Mink Car Album and CD (The Chopping Block)
The Chopping Block illustrated the lyrics to ''I Got Bit By a Mick Car'' for the CD cover. Sketches of the car, engine and numerous auto parts, as well as the model figure the car has hit. The piece looks serious but is layered with humour and kitsch elements.

Chrome Dome Web Site (SVA MFA Design School)
Project done in good humour, to offer resources to encourage men who are balding  not to succomb to the lure of things such as toupees and hair plugs.

AIGA Design Conference, Boston (344 Design LLC)
This is an illustrated reporting and commentary about the 2005 AIGA National Design Conference in Boston. This piece was influenced by the work of R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman, Chris Ware, Rube Goldberg, Norman Schureman and Matt Groening.

The Independent Spirit Awards (Exopolis)
Anti-Oscards. Drunken Party and a celebration of the independent film community, casual, a little rowdy, and sometimes unhinged. The graphics represent a daytime beach party. Fashion and funky feel, with a bright sunny feeling of Santa Monica.

Everyday is a Holiday promotion (Design Army)
The coaster-calendar is a set of 12 letterpressed coasters. Each has a date specific to that particular month, and a fun illustration to represent the date.

Conservative Advert by M&C Saatchi

Here are two poster from a series, produced for the Conservative Party campaign. It has been produced to get people to vote for the conservative party, by attacking Gordon Brown from the Labour party, and the mistakes he has made during his time in power. These posters are potentially aimed at people who vote for Labour in the elections, and trying to persuade them to vote for a change, to vote for Conservative. These posters are found around the country in the form of billboards, and their large scale means that people across the country will see and remember them.

Get Britain Working - Conservative Party Advertisement

Within this video, the aim is to persuade people to vote for the Conservative Party, through making bold statements and bringing important issues about work, to the publics attention. I think it is aimed towards people who pay tax, in comparison to those who don't, who are recieveing benefits. Being in the form of a video, it is seen on screen on TV's. The audience who recieve this are supsoe to interact with it by being persuaded to vote for Conservative.

Design for Special Events (Books)

This piece of GD is an invitation to the '2006 Spirit of Life Award Dinner'. The design for this event has a distinct LA look, with a simple black and silver colour scheme, with refined lettering foil-stamped and embossed, to embody the elegnace and sophistication of the occasion. The audience who recieve this are supose to realise the formality of the event.

Wallace Church Baseball (Wallace Church Inc)
This piece of GD is more image based as the audience is supsoe to interact with it by using the image 'tags'. The images represent confectionary picked up from a baseball match, with a calender of the baseball matches inside the wallet. It is clearly aiemd at NY Baseball fans.

The Spirit of Sport

''The Spirit of Sport is a tribute to Bolton’s sporting community. The stainless steel structure is approximately 30 metres tall and is covered with etched images of 600 sportsmen and women, coaches, backroom staff and volunteers from the local area. It is intended to be a snapshot of sport in the borough, representing elite as well as amateur sport from Bolton’s past, present and future.
The Spirit of Sport is the largest piece of public art in the UK to be developed through public consultation. Local sporting heroes were nominated to appear on the sculpture by their clubs and associations in recognition of their lasting contribution to sport.''
